“Digital skills gaps in the green economy” conference was organised by CAM Consulting Kft. on 16 September 2024 in Budapest within the framework of “DigitEdu 2024” implemented by the European Digital Learning Network.

The development of digital skills itself is a significant goal in today’s rapidly changing world, but it is worth examining how digital competences and innovative tools can contribute to the greening of the economy and achieving sustainability. We tried to get around the topic with case studies, good practices and a reference to innovative technologies (artificial intelligence).

In the first part of the conference, objectives, frameworks and programmes related to the twin transition of the European Union were presented, which can help bridge the gaps in digital skills in the green economy. In addition, good examples from e-learning platforms, which are one of the most common forms of developing digital and green skills, were also presented.

In the second session, the participants could learn about sector-specific good practices and perspectives from the SME sector, cultural heritage and digital design and manufacturing.

In the third part of the programme, a panel discussion took place on the subject of artificial intelligence. The experts discussed the role of AI in the energy sector, education and the banking sector, as well as the future of technology.
