In the framework of TOP 1.2.1-15 call for application (Territorial and Settlement Development Operational Programme – Socially and environmentally sustainable tourism development), three cities in Komárom-Esztergom County receive grants for implementing tourism projects whose application was managed by CAM Consulting Kft. The overall value of the three projects is 740 million HUF.

In the city of Komárom, archeological remains from the area of Brigetio, the ancient Roman settlement will be exhibited in the visitor-friendly museum. The objective of the project is to establish a cultural attraction built on local characteristics which can offer, either alone or together with the other attractions in Komárom (e.g. fortress system, spa, nature trail), multi-day activities for all ages. An important aspect of the project idea was to move the remains to a bigger building since the collection outgrew its current location.

“Dunamente Ökoturisztikai Látogatóközpont” (Dunamente Ecotourism Visitors’ Centre) will be built in Lábatlan to display the natural values of the city and its neighbourhood. In order to provide complex tourist experience, alongside with the conventional tools, innovative (video box with soundproof sofa, “whisperer wall”) and interactive (touch screen, web application) equipment will be installed in the exhibition rooms. Gerenday-kert, a garden next to the visitors’ centre, will also be developed: a nature trail presenting the natural values (primarily the flora) of the area will be established.

The municipality of Dorog wishes to honour its rich mining history with establishing the “Reimann Bányászattörténeti Miniverzum” (Reimann Mining History Miniature Museum). The museum will be in the immediate neighbourhood of the Reimann drainage adit classified as a monumental heritage. The more than 200 years of mining history will be introduced in the form of miniature models. The visitors can also get information in the museum about the attractions and services of the city and the area.
