The 2nd Call for small project proposals in the Western Border Area is announced aiming at strengthening the Slovak-Hungarian social cohesion across the border with the support of local cooperation and building, developing long-term partnerships. The call for proposals is announced in the framework of the Interreg V-A Slovakia-Hungary Cooperation Programme. Priority axes open within this call are:

PA 1) Nature and culture.

PA 4) Enhancing cross-border cooperation of public authorities and people.

The specific objective of  PA 1 is to increase the attractiveness of the border area, i.e., more efficient exploitation of natural and cultural potential of the border area facilitating sustainable development of local economy; and to increase social, economic and territorial cohesion. The main pillars of PA 1 are nature, tourism, culture and sport. The specific objective of PA 4 is to improve the level of cross-border inter-institutional cooperation and to broaden cross-border cooperation between citizens.

Proposals can be submitted continuously from 1 April 2019. Dates for closing the rounds:  30 June 2019, 30 September 2019, and 15 January 2020. Allocated ERDF sources: 978,153.54 EUR to the first, and 3,696,740.47 EUR to the fourth priority axis. The amount of the grant can be between 20,000 EUR and 50,000 EUR per project with a maximum co-financing rate of 85%.

Only those applicants are eligible for the grant whose place of business or branch office is established in the programme area and has a cross-border partner. The project duration is maximum 12 months.
