Regarding Energy Efficiency, there are different strengths and weaknesses among the EU countries, but they all share the common objective of achieving the 20% cut in greenhouse gases under a single umbrella – Energy Efficiency Directive 2012/27/EU. In the Energy Efficient Retrofitting (EER) sector, this implies overcoming new professional barriers that did not exist ten years ago in any of the countries and adaptation in training.

European project LEARN-EER, Mutual Learning for Energy Efficient Retrofitting, will undertake this challenge through an innovative learning platform that will answer to professionals’ skill needs from the participating countries as to future professionals from building and energy sector.

LEARN-EER is developed by institutions and companies from 5 European countries (Spain, Hungary, the Netherlands, Malta and Greece) experienced in innovation in the fields of energy efficiency and sustainable building. The consortium includes: INTROMAC (Spain), public research centre and Project Coordinator; CAM Consulting (Hungary), engineering and consulting company specialized in green economy; EOLAS S.L (Spain), consulting and project management company; PIM, Projects in Motion (Malta), SME focused on environmental sustainability; VENRAY (Netherlands) public body focused on training and cooperation network in Venlo Region; and AVACA Technologies (Greece) is the ICT development company.

The technical staff of the Project

The project started last October and lasts two years. It proposes a very innovative learning methodology where users/learners identify and share the online contents depending on their particular interests, developing their professional skills and capacities among experts/trainers through an open platform based on ICTs.

Currently, internal analysis work is being undertaken to identify EER professionals´ knowledge needs from the participant countries. Also, the design and the development of the mutual learning platform are ongoing and their progress can be followed on the project website, www.learneer.eu

LEARN-EER project has been funded with support from the European Commission through the Erasmus+ Programme coordinated by the Spanish Service for the Internationalization of Education (SEPIE). It has been supported by the Key Action 2, Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices, Strategic partnerships in Vocational Education and Training, particularly in this project in the field of Energy Efficiency.
