The C.H.A.N.G.E.R.S. partnership does not waste time. After a long preparation work, CAM organized the 3rd joint staff training at the beginning of the year. The event was held between 31st January and 2nd February 2022 virtually, due to the pandemic, especially to the spreading omicron variant.

The basic goal of the 3rd joint staff training (JST) was to improve the knowledge of the participating adult educators on the DOMESTIC USE OF RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES. In the framework of the 3rd JST, the adult educators could look into the preparation procedure of a handbook dedicated for the households on RES. Due to the brainstorming session on adaptation possibilities on the 3rd day, it is clear what should be the next step to improve the access and the materials for rural seniors.

Although we had to cancel the planned study trips, the online event provided us new opportunity to share extra content with the attendees and to increase the number of participants. During the 3-day training, the adult educators could learn not only about renewables relevant for households, but we deepened their knowledge on the latest RES topics, too. The participants learned about:

  • how data and artificial intelligence are transforming the energy sector,
  • how energy communities work and why they can be relevant for the households in the near future,
  • how geothermal based district heating systems operate, what are the main benefits, and why important to communicate with the households in case of such investments,
  • why electric mobility can be important for households and what is necessary for the development of the sector.

The overall objective of the C.H.A.N.G.E.R.S. project (Exchanging good practices to Change Household Attitudes for a Non-wasteful, Green environment and Energy-consciousness addressing Rural Seniors) is to exchange best-practice examples on adult education through 4 short-term joint staff trainings covering 3 main topics, namely: energy efficiency, renewable energy sources and sustainability in households.

The project is coordinated by CAM Consulting (Hungary), along with Projects in Motion Limited (Malta), EUROCREA Merchant SRL (Italy), Business Support Centre Kranj (Slovenia). Learn more about the C.H.A.N.G.E.R.S. project and visit our website and LinkedIn profile.
