After a period of incessant work for the preparation, finally, on 6 – 7 – 8 April 2022 the last interesting joint staff training organised by Eurocrea Merchant (IT) for the C.H.A.N.G.E.R.S. project was held, unfortunately still online due to the adverse situations concerning the Covid 19 pandemic.
During this event, different topics were discussed: the correct use of water sources and the water footprint of each of us, FOOD PRODUCTS AND FOOD PROCESSES AND PACKAGING, REDUCTION OF FOOD WASTE and smart home environment.
With regard to these topics, several projects that EM has developed over the last few years were given as examples, with the main themes being those mentioned above.
During the first day of the JST, EM staff brought as an example their experience with the implementation of the AQUAPATH project; the topics touched in relation to this project were:
- How to have a significant impact on direct and indirect water consumption and contribute to water saving and pollution reduction
- The results of the project: Web platform – App – Water footprint calculator, including practical suggestions for water consumption through a drop-down menu and guidelines for household management; awareness raising modules for children; state of the art and training needs analysis.
- Project Partners tried to calculate their own water footprint, saw the Aquapath kit for school children, and discussed the list of recommendations and simple tools to save water.
During the second day, EM presented two different projects dealing with food waste reduction and proper waste disposal, EGGS and EFFECT. During the presentation of these two projects, various topics were touched upon, for example:
- Basics of food products and processes.
- The role of Eurocrea in the projects: investigation of the target group through a dedicated survey and the creation of a comprehensive report; development of the learning pathway for reducing the food footprint and dissemination of the interactive learning platform (the main result) developed with an innovative approach based on informal learning.
- Materials presented: a) A learning pathway including didactic materials and methods/scenarios for adult education activities; b) an internet TV, a simple base of short educational video-materials; c) a board game, available both online and offline to help the learning process; d) the serious game developed for EGGS
During the last day, the importance of making elderly people’s homes “smart” in terms of energy was addressed through the presentation of the SMART YOUR HOME project. The main topics were:
- Smart homes and advantages of digitisation (especially for seniors)
- Project outcomes: Improving and expanding digital learning opportunities for seniors with ICT skills; Developing an innovative approach to enable seniors to create their own smart home
- Materials presented: A learning pathway including learning materials and methods/scenarios for adult education activities; Learning materials and solution developed
- Feedback and experiences gathered so far.
The overall objective of the project C.H.A.N.G.E.R.S. (Exchanging good practices to Change Household Attitudes for a Non-wasteful, Green environment and Energy-consciousness addressing Rural Seniors) is to exchange best-practice examples on adult education through 4 short-term joint staff trainings covering 3 main topics, namely: energy efficiency, renewable energy sources and sustainability in households.
The project is coordinated by CAM Consulting (Hungary), together with Projects in Motion Limited (Malta), EUROCREA Merchant SRL (Italy), Business Support Centre Kranj (Slovenia).
