Two project proposals, in which CAM Consulting Kft. were involved, have been approved in June 2017. The TOP-3.2.2-15 call for proposals was established to fund complex renewable energy projects for municipalities in the framework of the Territorial and Settlement Development Operational Programme.

Hungary is exceptionally rich in geothermal resources due to its geological conditions. It is therefore reasonable that increasing the rate of geothermal energy in energy production is important in the Hungarian energy policies and targets. Geothermal energy is an indigenous energy resource which is more environmental-friendly and cost-effective than fossil energy sources.

The “Geotermikus hőellátó rendszer kiépítése Komáromban” (Establishing geothermal system in Komárom) project aims at covering the heat demand of buildings belonging to the Municipality of Komárom with geothermal-based heating system. The project includes Spa Brigetio and the local sports hall.

In the other approved project called “Önkormányzati intézmények földgáz alapú primerenergia felhasználásának csökkentése Bábolnán” (Decreasing the use of natural gas-based primary energy in institutions owned by the Municipality of Bábolna), the thermal water from the local thermal wells will be used for producing domestic hot water in the local sports hall, while the associated gas in the water will be utilized for heating purposes in the sports hall and the canteen.
